BGS Program Requirements

Requirements for the BGS degree are listed in the Undergraduate Catalog. The requirements listed below are based upon the current catalog (2006/2007)- see a BGS advisor if your requirements fall under an earlier catalog. New KSU students must satisfy requirements current at the time of admission to the University or at declaration into a degree program.

  • Completion of 121 semester hours of applicable coursework
  • Completion of 42 upper division hours (30000/40000 level)
  • Completion of the University's Liberal Education Requirements (LERs)
  • Completion of one Writing-Intensive Course (WIC) with a grade of "C" or better
  • Achievement of at least 2.0 cumulative GSA in all KSU coursework
  • Normal college credit limitations apply to PEB workshop and other non-traditional coursework
  • Completion of the approved coursework plan (the BGS proposal) that includes a minimum of 30 credit hours

The entire application and admission process must be completed, including formal approval of your program proposal, prior to the first week of the semester in which you begin your final 30 hours.
