The College of Arts & Sciences


is the intellectual heart of Kent State University. Our primary mission is to provide a quality education for all students, led by the very best teacher-scholars. The programs in the College encompass humanities, social sciences, natural and mathematical sciences that are increasingly interwoven into mosaics of the �liberating� arts and sciences. These programs are offered through 19 academic departments and several centers and institutes. We offer 45 baccalaureate, 35 masters, and 37 doctoral degree programs in a wide range of fields.

The College of Arts and Sciences provides the foundational coursework for students throughout the University and attracts many of the best and brightest students in the University. We also educate students for many careers and professions.
